Short curriculum vitae

Oscar Cabrera holds a PHD in Economics from the University of Seville (Spain), with concentration in international economy and development economics.
 
He also received a Bachelor Degree in Economics fro the Universidad de El Salvador and a Graduate Degree in Economic and Management Sciences from the Economic Section for the Ministry and Science (Spain).
 
Since 1999, Dr. Cabrera has held the position of Chief Economist in the Economic and Financial Investigation Department at the Central Reserve Bank of El Salvador. He coordinates the institutional Investigation Agenda in the Central Bank and is part of the Committee for the Administration of Political Economic and International Reserves and has been a consultant for the General Direction of Statistical and Census of the Interamerican Development Bank. His research and publications focus on the following specialties: quantitative methods, international trade and development and economic growth. Among his lastest publications, we can find: (I) How To Grow Faster: The Role of Economic Efficiency as an Explanation of the Regional Differences of Total Factor Productivity; (II) How to measure the Purchasing Power Parity and an application to the sources of growth of the Salvadorian economy, among others.
 
He has been graduate Professor for ten years of the Master in Business Administration and Managerial Consultancy (MAECE) from the Universidad de El Salvador and of the Master in Public Finance at the Universidad José Matías Delgado.
